Brooklyn library card = discount card

Use this and get a discount at a dozen local businesses.

Brooklyn dealhounds, keep your library card handy! The Brooklyn Public Library system has teamed up with more than a dozen local businesses to offer special discounts to cardholders. The current list of “Community Partners” runs the gamut from restaurants (Sunset Bagel, Usual Diner, Ozzie’s Coffee & Tea), travel (hotel le bleu, All Car Rental), spa treatments (for you at Truly Kneaded Home Spa, and for a furry friend at Fanci-Pooches & Purrs Spa Boutique), retail shops, and more. Discounts range from a free soda with purchase to 20 percent off rooms at le bleu. Bookmark the growing list here.

Want in? Businesses wishing to offer their own Community Partner discounts should contact the library’s marketing & communications department at 718-230-2767. Brooklynites without library cards can apply for one online or in-person at one of their 60 branch locations.

Thanks for the tip, Andrew. Got a good one for us? Email it to [email protected] and if we publish it, we’ll send you a free Brokelyn t-shirt.

  1. What a terrible list of deals. In theory this would be swell, but in practice all I’m getting is a free coke on $6 worth of bagels. Not even worth the trouble of keeping my library card on me.

    • Ha! You’re not… entirely wrong on that, Geoff. But some of the deals are decent. And it’s, like, the library.
