Sugarburg

What it is: A comfortable, relaxing and beautifully built bar specializing in craft beer and whiskey.
Why we love it: What’s not to love about a lovingly curated beer selection, outstanding whiskey options and a several-steps-above-bar-food menu, all at reasonable prices? The spot is a favorite for its imaginative, Burning Man-inspired decor, built and decorated by owner David Urbanos, his brothers and their friends, accompanied by good food, good booze and an artistic atmosphere that seems to add new eye-catching art each time we visit.
What to order: If you’re us, then its maple bacon brussels sprouts and poutine all day. Other popular options include the Three Cheese Mac & Cheese Explosion, shrimp tacos and Southern-with-a-twist dishes like po-boys of the squash, fried chicken or fried shrimp variety, and cornbread salad.
Regular tip: Look up! That giant, cast iron horse over your head—the one with the disco ball between his legs—has been to the desert and back. The Urbanos brothers graciously gave him a home after a past Burning Man adventure. His name is Lighting.
