Get your om on for free with pop up yoga at Dekalb Market

Dekalb Market, awaiting your oms and ahs.

The best part about summer in Brooklyn is scouting out free outdoor activities that will be fun without being crowded and filthy. (We’re looking at you, McCarren Pool. We’re making your search easier because this Sunday (July 29) Pop Up Yoga hosts a FREE yoga event at Dekalb Market. The day will feature two FREE classes accompanied by live music (the new trend in yoga culture) and FREE yoga mat giveaway to the first 10 students of each class, sponsored by VitaCoco. Have we said FREE enough times yet for you to be interested?

Cool hippie vendors like Organic Avenue (BEST COCONUT WATER, EVER — sorry Vita Coco), Sprout Skincare, and Vita Coco Water (STILL COOL BECAUSE IT’S ENDORSED BY MADONNA), and local sellers from Etsy will be hanging out with their wares. Massage and acupuncture will be available the whole day, in case the crowd gets too intense.

Yoga classes will be held from 11am-12pm and 4-5pm in the back market square. They’re open level and will be led by Be Shakti of Prana Yoga Room. Don’t you love how yoga instructors rename themselves? If we did that, our yoga teacher name would be Yogi Free Beer.

If you’re not one of the first 10 people to class, make sure you bring your own mat, otherwise you’ll be down dogging on the concrete and that shit hurts your hands!
