While the MTA assesses the damage, it has found that none of the buses or subway cars were affected, which means the damage is all on the lines. Some bus service will return at 5pm today and fares will be suspended for the time being. To find out which ones, keep an eye on MTA insider. Bloomberg said it could still be five days before subway returns, but MTA chief Joe Lhota said “if there are parts of the subway system we can get up, we’ll get them up.” He also said MTA will use buses to supplement down subway lines, and asked New Yorkers to “be creative with us.”
