Your Hurricane Sandy companion: A guide to recovery

Suck it, Sandy. Photo by Michael Tapp.

Before we sign off for the week, we’d just like to say thank you to everyone that read the site, passed tips about volunteer opportunities to us, tweeted at us and retweeted our updates and shared the news we put up. We did our best to connect people who wanted to help with people who needed it, but you guys put those efforts over the top by sharing it with whoever you could. Sandy was maybe a once in a lifetime storm, or maybe it’s just the way we’re going to have to live now, but if the response from our readers was any indication, New Yorkers will always be happy to help out after a disaster strikes our home. Below you’ll find all of our best info about Sandy recovery, including volunteer opportunities and free offers for survivors. See you out there this weekend.
