Sure, you’ve still got your space heater plugged in and haven’t retired that ratty winter coat yet, but really, summer is coming, we swear! (Maybe. Hopefully. PLEASE GOD PLEASE). And even if the weather’s being coy, Brooklyn Bridge Park’s getting ready for outdoor movie season: they’ve released the schedule for Syfy’s free Movies With a View series, and it looks awesome. Like, Ferris Bueller-awesome. Because one of the films is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Seriously, if you’re not psyched, you’re not human.
The series’ fourteenth season seems to be centered on movies that take place in major cities; Ferris Bueller, which starts the whole thing off on Thursday July 11th, is set in Chicago, with other films representing San Francisco, Rome and Detroit, among others. Here’s the lineup:
July 11
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
July 18
Enter the Dragon
July 25
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
August 1
8 Mile
August 8
Roman Holiday
August 15
Rocky
August 22
Vertigo
August 29 – Public vote!
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Good Will Hunting or Lost in Translation
As always, the movies are free, and start every Thursday at dusk; get to Brooklyn Bridge Park super early to snag a good spot and purchase some local snacks and drinks from vendors like Blue Marble Ice Cream, Luke’s Lobster, No. 7 Subs, Lizzmonade Brooklyn, and the Brooklyn Bridge Wine Bar.
