Remember the good ole’ days when photos took a week to develop and were hung in frames instead of posted in the black hole of cyberspace? Etsy does, and they’re having a party tonight in DUMBO focused on spiffing up those actual, physical pictures.
Tonight Etsy and The Dumbo Improvement District are joining forces to host the Etsy Craft Party and bring your old photos some new life. The party will be raging from 5:30pm-8:30pm at DUMBO’s Manhattan Bridge Archway Plaza (Water Street between Anchorage Place and Adams Street). If you have ‘em, bring your pics of ancient hotties (that are potentially your blood relatives) collecting dust in the attic. If not, Etsy will provide the vintage pictures AND the supplies to embroider them resulting in some super cool art with a 70’s vibe. For social media junkies don’t worry! You can still show the world you went out on Friday night by displaying your finished crafts online using the hashtag #craftparty and add any Instagram filter you like!
The party will also have music, raffles, a photo booth with props, and food trucks (with free samples!). It’s a great (cost effective) date for those looking to do something different that are also broke. It’s also a kid-friendly event, so if you don’t have babies to bring along, probably best not to come super sauced. Or just stay far away from the kids.
