Authors across the nation will be doing some heavy lifting on the retail front November 30th. As part of Indies First, writers will be slinging hardcovers at local bookstores to spur business and keep some of those Amazon dollars in out of Seattle. Of course Brooklyn, well known for its varied cast of established and up-and-coming authors, is taking part. On “Small Business Saturday” Bergen Street Comics, Community Bookstore, Greenlight Bookstore, The POWERHOUSE Arena, POWERHOUSE on 8th, and WORD will be staffed by some of our favorite local authors.
Want to talk shop with a Brooklyn wordsmith? Nerd out with a comic book artist? Get recommendations from someone you’ve read? Check out the list below of participating writers and stop by a shop. It’s pretty hefty, so you’re bound to find someone you like. And remember: support all small businesses this season, not just bookstores!
