Get a free expensive education at the Pratt Free School

Usually you avoid school, but hey, it’s free. via Facebook

Have you ever wondered what it must be like to go to one of the prestigious art schools in one of the most artistic cities in the world? Well, on April 5 you can find out for the low low cost of zero dollars.

The Pratt Institute in Clinton Hill is opening their Pratt Free School this weekend, offering a day of free classes to the public taught by alumni of their Master Communication Design program. The day of free classes, which have become a yearly tradition at the school, are designed as both a showcase for recent graduates and an outreach to the Brooklyn community.

The are six different design classes all day, from 10am and until 6pm. Classes pair various types of design with everyday issues such as open sourcing, civil liberty (DRONES! – ed), poetry, prose and good old fashioned psychology. Plus, you get a free lunch, so even if you think you’ve got nothing left to learn in life, at least you can get some free food out of the day.

If you’re free for that day or even for part of it, do yourself a favor and experience a taste of the school that has sculpted minds from William van Alen, architect of the Chrysler building to pop band Matt & Kim, architects of your drunken nights out. You can register for the classes, which thankfully won’t add on to your student loan debt, here.
