Here it is, the Craigslist version of “For sale, baby shoes, never worn,” an ad that reads:
I HAVE TWO HOSPITAL BEDS TO BE GIVEN AWAY. ONE IS BARELY USED, THE OTHER
ONE IS USED, BUT BOTH ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
Also there are some instructions on how to claim the beds from their owner in Sheepshead Bay, but the ad itself raises a series of questions:
-Why all caps?
-How do you get not one, but two, gently used hospital beds?
-Are these the automatic kind or the kind that don’t have any electronics?
-Did anyone die in them?
-Was this person running an unauthorized hospital that was raided by state medical authorities?
-Or was it maybe a hospital-themed cocktail bar that never got off the ground?
-Do the beds provide a business opportunity (like those popcorn machines that were given away) other than hospital bar or unlicensed hospital?
-If your preferred hospital is out of network, can you get a doctor from it to come treat you in your hospital bed in you apartment because come on how can your own private hospital/hospital bed be out of network?
-Seriously though, who died in these?
