What is it? A medieval-esque beer tavern with creeping gargoyles and mounted animal heads, and a Mediterranean-inspired food menu.
Why we love it: Its rustic cabin-y feel and accommodating bartenders make it hard to go home; likewise, the $10 unlimited drinks at brunch if you sit at the bar keep us stuck to the bar stool!
Who to bring: A first date (dim lighting), a friend who lives in the neighborhood
What to order: The white bean hummus with grilled flatbread and chipotle aioli ($7), or the fried manchego cheese with lemon slices ($9) alongside one of the 8 rotating American craft beers on tap (Single-cut mahogany ale, $6).
Fun fact: The bar itself dates back to the 1920s.—Kate Mooney
