Groupon of the day: go mini-golfing for a mini-price

But uh, don’t jump in the little pool. No matter how hot it is. via The Brooklyn Golf Center

If you’ve ever ridden your bike down to Fort Tilden or Jacob Riis Park, you might have seen it: a giant driving range on Flatbush Avenue, across from Floyd Bennett Field. Because you were looking out for cars, you may have missed that it also has a mini-golf course . It’s a pretty fun one, we’ve played on it. And now you can get a game for two people for the price of one, with this Groupon custom-made for summer.

No matter how people feel about regular golf, everyone loves mini-golf. Maybe it’s the putting, maybe it’s course design. Or the fact that any idiot can get a hole-in-one through sheer luck. Normally it costs $8 per person to play a round at the Brooklyn Golf Center, but this Groupon will get you a game for two for $8. I went to the Brooklyn Golf Center when I was doing a mini-golf tour of New York City, and this was one of my favorites. Simple and unpretentious, and never crowded because it’s so out of the way.

You can also bump your game up to a foursome for $16 (normally $32), if you and your friends want to pretend you’re high powered business people having an important meeting. Actually, from now on, all business ideas presented to us must be spoken about on the mini-golf course. So invite us to play, why don’t you?
