New York Road Runners have free stuff for joggers tomorrow on National Running Day

Even if you don’t have a number, it’s hot out there, so get some free water. via Facebook

If any of you subscribe to the life of jogging, we are impressed. Running is hard, and most difficult things in life aren’t even worth doing. That being said, you’ve got an ally in the New York Road Runners, who are celebrating National Running Day (which is a thing)  tomorrow, June 4, the best way they know how: providing joggers free water and bandanas in Prospect and Brooklyn Bridge Park. That’s awful nice of them.

It’s especially nice when you think about the fact that it’s only getting hotter out there, even on your morning jogs. Anyway, according to a press release they sent out, the New York Road Runners will be set up at East Drive and Grand Army Plaza at Prospect Park from 7am to 10am and at Pier 2 on the path at Brooklyn Bridge Park from 5pm to 7pm. At each spot, they’ll be passing out free water, free five-borough bandanas and free National Running Day bibs.

You can also join up with Team Red, White and Blue for a group run starting at the Pier 2 water spot at 6:30pm, or if you want to find another running team, hang around for the Singlet Mixer at Fornino on Pier 6 at 7:oopm. Like a singles mixer but for joggers, the singlet mixer will be filled with running clubs, allowing you to find one that suits your jogging ability. All in all, a nice way to remember that jogging doesn’t have to be a lonely experience if you don’t want it to be.
