If you like art, but you can’t afford a single damn piece of it, then you’ll be happy to know that there’s a bonafide gallery in Bushwick giving away all of theirs for free. According to the Brooklyn Paper, The Living Gallery is hosting a show called “Free the Art,” and they mean it literally.
The Paper spoke to gallery owner Nyssa Frank about the choice to give away the artists’ works to the highest bidder (of zero dollars): “The goal is to …[liberate] artists from equating money with their work.”
Here’s how to get your hands on a brand new work of art for free: head to the Living Gallery (1094 Broadway) on Feb. 1, anytime between 6:30pm and 9:30pm. You can only take home one piece of art, and you’ll claim it by putting your name next to the work, so you can enjoy the rest of the show. You’ll be free to take home your new piece at the end of the night.
“Hopefully I get art-conscious art lovers who really want to celebrate young art,” Frank told the Paper. Well, whether that sounds like you, or whether you’re just a cheapskate who wants some goddamn culture in your living room, hit up the gallery next Monday evening! And just like in Nathan For You, make sure you tell all your friends about the artist who made your free piece. Because even if you’re not paying them, somebody has to.

Is this to make a point about everybody and their grandma's corporation wanting creative work for free? I feel like I'm being trolled.
