The Coney Island boardwalk may be losing its iconic wood planks as the city looks to replace them with concrete and plastic, so this may be literally (literally) one of your last chances to own a piece of Coney Island history. Someone on Craigslist claims to be giving away 4×14 wood joists between 10-18 feet long that were “just ripped up” from the boardwalk and some Ipe wood (aka boardwalk planks) still attached to the massive joists. We’d say be careful for this to be a scam, but honestly, dressing up regular wood as boardwalk planks just to give it away for free seems like a lot of work. Everything must go by Thursday, so call 516-967-6866.
