Donna Minkowitz will help you make yourself the next Augusten Burroughs

She knows what she’s talking about

You might not have a job that requires you to do a lot of writing, but you know that deep inside you lies the soul of a great human of letters. The only issue is adding the actual ability to write to said soul so that you can get words on a page that people want to read. Don’t go crazy staring at a blank sheet of paper until it happens, instead, take advantage of a couple of free writing courses that award-winning memoirist Donna Minkowitz is offering at some Brooklyn libraries this month.

Minkotiwz is a Lamba Literary Award-winning memoirist who’s been published in New York MagazineMs.The Nation and even had a column at the Village Voice. So, if there’s anyone you want to take a free writing course with, it’s probably her. The classes are all two hours and will focus on memoir writing, so you can finally turn your life stories into readable chunks as opposed to free-form floating endurance tests that no one wants to sit through. Best of all, again, these classes are free.

The schedule for the two classes are:

Sunday, December 13 from 2pm to 4pm, Windsor Terrace Library, (160 East 5th Street)
Tuesday, December 16 from 7pm to 9pm, Central Library, Brooklyn Public Library (10 Grand Army Plaza)
