We love Midwood Martial Arts & Family Fitness Center, the slightly misnamed karate-yoga-gymnastics-family-fitness-and-recreation hub on Avenue H. Sunny and clean studio, zero pretension, excellent instructors, friendly neighborhood vibe, etc. etc. etc..
We also love the owners: Alison and Alfred, who are so nice they belong in some small town somewhere (ignore the fact that small-town friendliness is often overrated). That’s why we’re thrilled that they’re colluding with us on a little deal exclusively for Brokelyn readers: Alfred and Alison have agreed to offer a very limited number of 10-class cards for the unreasonably low price of $85 (normally $140). That means each class is just $8.50.
Why this is an incomparable deal: 1) It’s 40 percent off the usual prices. 2) You can share a class card with your spouse, domestic partner, granny, kids—anyone in your family. 3) Even if you have to take the subway here and home—two secs from the Avenue H stop on the Q line—it’s still cheaper than yoga most anywhere else. 4) Midwood Martial Arts is awesome (see above).
These cards are good through the end of June, 2010, so you have more than four months to use your 10 classes. They’re good for all ongoing drop-in classes: karate and gymnastics for kids, kung fu, wrestling, adult/teen yoga, tai chi, nei gung, bones for life, Nia technique, and starting in March, Zumba. (The last three are for women only.) The cards are also good for Kosher Boot Camp when it’s running.
Not included: session classes such as parent & baby yoga, children’s yoga, creative movement for small children, Deedle Time, Music for Aardvarks and Musical Explorers.
If you think you might, maybe, could possibly want to buy one of these absurdly well-priced cards, you should also know this: We have a limited number of these cards, and we’re only offering this deal through next Wednesday, Feb. 24, or while supplies last (FYI, our beer books, which we had way more of, sold out in an afternoon). After that, the cards go back up to the people-who-don’t-read-Brokelyn price of $140.
To buy a card via Paypal, click the button below. Your name will be listed at Midwood Martial Arts, where you can pick up your card as soon as you like and get started. And don’t forget to use it by June!
Update: Sorry folks, the deal is no longer available. But please stay tuned for the next one!

I wish this deal was still on :(! I especially like the fact that you can pay with paypal; very convenient! If you are looking for another yoga deal, we are offering a months worth of unlimited yoga at yoga high for only $59! It's not in Brooklyn, but it may be worth the trek to the lower east side :) Check it out on http://www.scoop.st
