Out with the old, in with the older: Beacon’s Closet is having a rare, huge end-of-season sale!

Thrift store shopping in Brooklyn is basically real-store shopping anywhere else, and the O.G. “thrift” ripoff has always been Beacon’s Closet, a store notorious for its picky consignment process and its sometimes unforgiving price tags on used merchandise.

Don’t get us wrong, there’s great stuff to be found by shopping at this thrift mecca — we just don’t think you should be shelling out big bucks to do it. That’s why we’re excited to share the news that Beacon’s closet is having a storewide end-of-season sale at two of its three Brooklyn locations next weekend, and everything is up to 75 percent off!

Participating locations are Greenpoint (74 Guernsey Street) and Bushwick (23 Bogart Street), as well as the Manhattan location (10 W. 13th St.). Just don’t try Park Slope, as they’re not part of the sweet deal.

FYI if you don’t shop at Beacon’s that often, you should know that this sale is rarer than a Donald Trump eating a rare sirloin. You’ll want to get there early to have your pick of the wares. The sale is on Feb. 27 and Feb. 28 from 11am-8pm.

Start putting together a donation bag of old stuff now, so you can free up some closet space for all the sweet, gently-worn threads you’re about to inherit! And if you’re feeling extra ambitious, you can even take that bag to Beacon’s Closet to get some money back in store credit. Don’t be intimidated by our consignment grousing above: let Broad City’s Abbi and Ilana here show you how it’s done.
