College costs what, like $50,000 a year right now? Want to know the best way to blow $200k over the course of four years? Major in social media. Next fall, Newberry College in South Carolina will offer an undergraduate degree dedicated to social media. The college assures everyone they’ll be teaching students more than just the holy trifecta of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, because freshman already know all that, anyway. They’re calling it “interdisciplinary,” blending the major with graphic design, communications, business, marketing, psychology and statistics.
Does this legitimize the “Internet Arts” or is it just a scheme to swindle people out of money without giving them anything in return? (We’re looking at you, “unpaid internships.”)

I can see the first job interview:
"I was a SoME major."
"So what?"
