Secrets of breaking into BK’s food industry revealed, tomorrow

Get advice on how to get your food from your kitchen to a store shelf. via Facebook

We’ve previously handed out some free advice on how to break into the food business in Brooklyn, but there’s a ton of competition out there, so you can always use some more info. Especially if it comes from people who’ve made a name for themselves on the basis of their own tasty food. Tomorrow, Edible Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Brewery are bringing you just that, gathering successful foodies to dish on how they made it here.

Learn How to Sell Your Product will feature spread mavens Monica Luczak and Przemek Adolf of Saucy By Nature and Food Alliance NYC, home cooking substitute Kelly Geary of Sweet Deliverance, confectioner Marisa Wu of the Salty Road and soup slinger Nicole Chaszar of The Splendid Spoon. Even if you’re unsure whether your Scoville scale-busting is actually something with mass appeal, it couldn’t hurt to check this out, as it only costs five bucks, should allow you to meet other foodies and make some connections. Plus, if you decide the food slinging life isn’t for you, the event isn’t a total wash: there’ll be free samples after the talk and you can drown your dead foodie dreams in delicious Brooklyn Brewery beers for just five dollars.

Learn How to Sell Your Product, March 13, 8pm – 10pm, Brooklyn Brewery (79 North 11th Street), $5
