What do you do all day at your office? Do you work really hard on your job because you really like it? OR do you instead use the time to jot down plans for your next crafting project, and check Etsy and Pinterest obsessively for ideas? If it’s the latter, well, you can finally get your career on a different track, because internet powerhouse BuzzFeed has a paid internship position in its DIY section.
BuzzFeed wants to get into the home design game and crafting game, so they’re turning to you, person who has hopefully never been featured on Regretsy. Aside from the usual requirements, like being able to get content up quickly and meshing with BuzzFeed’s humor, you also need to be really, really into crafting. This isn’t a coffee and copies internship. Instead your responsibilities will include things like maintaining BuzzFeed’s Tumblr and Pinterest, understanding trends on design blogs and writing and pitching posts. It’ll also help if you’re used to being part of the internet DIY world already.
If you’re ready to jump ship from one office to another, first make a BuzzFeed profile and do a couple posts showing that you get the BuzzFeed aesthetic. Then send your a link to your profile, a couple paragraphs about yourself (but not a traditional cover letter), a resume and links to any social media presences you’ve got to Peggy Wang, peggy (at) buzzfeed.com.
