Growing a business can be tough in this borough, especially with the tyranny of partnering choices available to you. Should you go the brand management route and seek representation? Join a union of other small business? Put it all in a state department’s hands? Not to worry. Tomorrow on April 15, you can be like a kid in a candy store with Trade Brooklyn, a big ol’ business-to-business exhibition where you can shake important hands, trade business cards and get yourself on the borough’s map.
Trade Brooklyn is totally free to attend, as long as you register. You don’t need to have your own booth, you can just show up with a stack of business cards and start chatting, talking shop and trading notes. There’ll be partnerships for the Brooklyn BIDs (Business Improvement Districts) in attendance, bank lenders aplenty, and state Health and Public Service departments to answer any questions you have about seeking government assistance. (And if you’re a female entrepreneur, there’s a whole new support system for that now!)
You can also register for a free counseling session, attend a credit seminar, and listen to guest speakers talk about how to stay motivated when the going gets tough. Bonus: if you attend the show, you might even get a sighting of real-life royalty: the Brooklyn Cyclones will also be exhibiting at Trade Brooklyn, and our new king of BK also happens to be their head of Community Outreach and Promotions.
Registration for the show closes at midnight tonight. So take a break from your tax panic, sign up to attend the show tomorrow at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge (333 Adams Street), and enjoy the opportunity to meet like-minded professionals who can help your business put its best foot forward this spring.
