Brokerlyn: Nothing over $1,400/month in Park Slope, Bed-Stuy and beyond

James Dean shrine sacrifices not included in monthly rent

Summer’s coming and lease’s are expiring and as much as we love Brooklyn, when it comes to finding a new apartment in your budget in Kings County, Staten Island begins to have moments of appeal. Before you defect to what really should be considered New Jersey, though, here are some open apartments, per our rental service and one Craigslist find. If you do move to Staten, don’t say we didn’t try to help you.

________

Now that’s a bathtub
Brighton Beach
$1,250/month
Studio

There’s a lot to be said for renting south instead of east – Brighton doesn’t have the same bar offerings as Bushwick, but it has way better Russian food and the Q isn’t going to stop running to Manhattan anytime soon.

________

Apartment may or may not be framed in black like listing photos
Flatbush
$1,195/month
Studio

Looks clean and cute and is part of the kind of large, courtyard-ed buildings that offer the sort of amenities (designated greenspaces, walk areas) New York decided long ago weren’t as important as density.

________

Small but sweet
Bed-Stuy
$1,100/month
One-bedroom

All utilities included in rent, second-floor walkup, six month lease.

________

Too good to be true
Navy Yard
$1,124/month
Two-bedroom

This is an affordable property so there are income restrictions. Also, it’s not immediately available and this listing is just looking for names to replenish the apartment’s waitlist.

________

R train livin’
Bay Ridge
$1,400/month
Studio

Goddamn do you get more space once you move west. Setup is a bit awkward but very roomy.

________

So many different door arch styles
Midwood
$1,376/month
Studio

We’re low-key obsessed with those old-school laundry hampers that are built into bathroom walls.

________

Chill vibes
Park Slope
$1,000
The featured image for this post is of this apartment. Your new roomie will be a “queer, artsy young professional”. His bedroom is cute af.
