We all love booze (most of us anyway), and especially when we’ve got a ton of local booze lined up for us to taste. That’s why it’s time to get excited, because Arts+Crafts (they of Bushwick Beverages) and Tap+Cork are teaming up to for the second ever Brooklyn Beer and Wine Festival at Bed-Stuy’s Restoration Plaza (1368 Fulton Street), next Saturday, August 16. Beer nerds, winos and foodies, your (affordable) event of the summer has arrived.
If you’re like us and opted out of calculus in eleventh grade, let us break this down for you real quick: Arts+Crafts + Tap+Cork + beer + wine+ just $20 for fifteen drink tickets = happy. Now add that to bringing better beverage brands to Brooklynites and Bed-Stuy businesses, and you’ve got a sentence with a lot of B’s.
Or, let’s do it without math: for $20 you get to try beers, wines and enjoy other festival-y things like DJ CEO and musical guests celebrating rap and R&B label legends from the 90s (think: Biggie and Jay) and the aughts (think: Kanye and Rihanna). Throwback tunes will be accompanied by Brooklyn-based House Of Art Gallery displaying select art prints of Notorious B.I.G. & Jay-Z from artist Justin Bua’s book, Legends of Hip-Hop.
Keeping with the locovore trend, they festival is going local, micro, nano and any other way you can be indie with food and drink. So, that means NYC-area brewers like Long Island’s Barrier Brewing, the Bronx’s Dyckman Beer Co., Queens’ SingleCut Beersmiths and Brooklyn’s own Other Half Brewing and KelSo will be slinging beers for hops fans. If wine is more your thing, you’ve got options like Martine’s Wines, Croteaux Wineries, Annadale Cidery, Brooklyn Oenology Winery, and Brooklyn Winery. And in addition to that, food options from Bella Torte & Marcus Vineyard will be craftily curated as well and you get a commemorative tasting glass!
So what are you waiting for? Grab a ticket and prepare to fill your Saturday with even more booze than usual.
