When Neil Diamond announced he was playing a secret show, his first ever in Brooklyn, we figured the announcement was just some cryptic bullshit to gin up publicity for a Barclays Center show. After all, this is the Jewish Elvis we’re talking about, he wasn’t gonna suddenly pop in at Shea Stadium. Confounding our expectations though, Diamond announced on Twitter and Facebook that his secret show will be a free gig at Erasmus Hall High School (911 Flatbush Avenue).
The invitation to the show says that free tickets will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 3pm. The invitation also asks you to not line up before 3pm, but it doesn’t say anything about skulking around across the street from 1pm until 2:59pm. The show starts at 6pm, so if you get in, you’ll have plenty of time to brag to your friends that you saw their parent’s favorite rock star for free. We kid, Neil, we kid! Welcome home, please wear this sparkly shirt:

Please, just humor this old school Brooklynite and call it "Flatbush" not "Ditmas".
Erasmus Hall HS is NOT in Ditmas Park...it's in Flatbush.
