With summer somnambulating into the city, it’s easy to forget the joys of attending a New York music festival: dressed in a tank top and shorts, dancing to some of the biggest names in music. Which is why we’re reminding you of the festival we’re most looking forward to this year: Panorama. The three-day music, art and technology festival makes a triumphant return after its wildly successful debut last summer. A sick lineup of musical acts will descend on Randall’s Island Park, July 28-30, as will some intense immersive art, delish food and a non-stop dance party.
Of course, we wouldn’t remind you about this spectacular event and just leave you salivating. We’re giving away a pair of three-day general admission passes to one lucky Brokester – a $564 value! These passes put you in front of an amazing lineup, including huge acts like Nine Inch Nails, Frank Ocean, Tame Impala, A Tribe Called Quest, alt-J, Solange, Justice, Nick Murphy, MGMT and tons more.
And that’s only the live music! You’ll also get access to The Point, a shaded, misted open-air club at the beating heart of the festival. You’ll be dancing your pants off to all-day continuous DJ sets from the likes of Theo Parrish, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Derrick Carter, Huerco S. & Honey Dijon and more. A state-of-the-art Funktion One Sound System and a wild LED light show will take the multi-level dance party out of this world.
Panorama’s not all world-class bands. The Lab, an immersive art installation returns, bigger and better than last year. NYC-based artists will merge visual arts, music, and bleeding-edge technology to create a mesmeric series of worlds to escape into. Direct animations with your movements, drop into a virtual reality world, and even smell your way through an olfactory experience. Don’t miss the main attraction: The Dome, a 90-foot, 360-degree visual show produced by Dirt Empire. It’s the closest thing to a mushroom trip without actually ingesting them.
Randall’s Island Park is a quick subway, bus, bike or ferry ride from Manhattan or Brooklyn. And when it’s all over you can go home and sleep in your own bed (or rage it at an all-night after-party, whatevs).
