If you were squeezing your way through the throngs of Brooklyn bloggerati a couple weeks ago at the Bell House, you might have noticed our friend Erik Trinidad, the blogger-extraordinaire behind sites like Fancy Fast Food, The Global Trip and about a gazillion others. Or maybe you noticed Erik’s chest. On it was the Periodic Table of Brooklyn, Erik’s clever rendering of a chemistry-inspired Brooklyn, with our elemental neighborhoods and zip codes laid out in just about the right spots around the borough table. It’s the kind of cool understated design we’re sure has Brooklyn Industries kicking itself for not having thought-up first. And, of course, we’d be culturally-remiss if we didn’t tell you where to get one of your own.
Naturally, the shirt’s from one of Erik’s sites: CoverMyTorso.com, where you can find this shirt and about 70 others you might very well want too. They’re all by Erik, who, on top of turning culinary water to gold and blogging from places we all we wish we could, turns out to be one talented t-shirt designer. We like the Brooklyn one, of course, but a close second is Erik’s Periodic Table of Fast Food Chains, in the shape of a burger. Take a look for yourself.
For this week only, Erik’s generously holding a 10-percent-off Brokelyn special on The Periodic Table of Brooklyn. Through midnight, Fri., April 30, the short-sleeve tee is only $17.99.
