From eclipses to piggy backing shuttles to general Neil DeGrasse Tyson awesomeness, 2012 has been quite a year for astronomy. Tonight is another one of those situation: venus will pass right in front of the sun around sunset today, something that won’t happen again until 2117 when we’ll hopefully all be too busy playing with our hoverboards to care.
