You may have escaped Scientology, but the vegans are here, and they’re actively recruiting.
The Seed is coming to town on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday August 10 to educate you on what it means to be vegan “for those who have and have not chosen this lifestyle” according to organizers. Or don’t have friends who are always telling you how easy it is and how seitan is actually really good, seriously. Even better, you can go to the Vegan Police Academy for 50% off the listed price, with an exclusive code from Brokelyn.
The weekend’s festivities will feature vegan-powered champion athletes, hand selected vegan-friendly brands to showcase their products (helloooo samples), world-renowned speakers to educate attendees, and top chefs exhibiting delicious vegan recipes (helloooo samples, again). The event will also feature award-winning films with opportunities to meet and chat with directors.
You don’t have to eat kale to take part in the vegetable-centric celebration, The Seed organizers are openly welcoming the vegan-curious and vegan-skeptical, not merely die-hard vegans. Just don’t expect to leave feeling the same about animal products.
The Seed will take place from 10am to 6pm on Saturday, August 9 and 10am to 6:30pm on Sunday, August 10 at SoHo’s 82 Mercer, a chic loft space, perfect for contemplating veganism (and a few blocks away from a really good Georgetown Cupcake, which is not vegan, but does give away free cupcakes every morning via their twitter feed).
In order to help you quit the burgers (no news on inhalable e-burgers yet, though they’d probably be banned in restaurants too), The Seed is even offering Brokelyn readers 50% off tickets, with the code Seed50. You can grab a one or two day ticket, which will range from $15 to $25 with the code, here. Just remember that once you go vegan to watch out for these guys. May your weekend be filled with plant-based enthusiasm.
