4. The always delightful Society for the Advancement of Social Studies presents another evening of lectures, this month on—of course—Halloween and its associated scares. There will be chilling talks on memento mori and mourning jewelry, the history of vampires, and the truth about zombies. (Tuesday, FREE)

5. HONK NYC!, a weeklong street-band extravaganza, is upon us. Tonight Littlefield hosts the 3rd Annual HONK NYC Dance Party, featuring Les Vilains Chicot from Paris, New Creations Brass Band from New Orleans, the Brooklyn United Marching Band Drumline, and more. (Wednesday, $10)

Tonight UnionDocs will be screening 1963’s The Bus—a pioneering documentary about activists on the way to hear Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech—which has not been publicly screened in 30 years, followed by a teaser of Whose Streets, a doc about today’s #BlackLivesMatter movement.
