Dumb and Dumber might be on your radar for a couple reasons at the moment. For one, there’s that sequel, which we will henceforth never mention again. Also, it’s a comedy classic so you probably think of it more than you’d admit in public. Here’s another reason to be thinking of the movie right now: tonight at the Trash Bar, you can see a band that’s devoted themselves to only playing covers off the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack. Bring your new age girl, she’ll like it. She’ll like it a lot.
Seriously, this is a real thing. The band is called I Got Worms, and they’ll be playing the Trash Bar tonight, going on at 11pm. Aside from covers like “New Age Girl” and what’s already a cover of “Get Ready” by The Proclaimers, lead singer Chris Rizzo told us that the band will be in “movie appropriate costuming” and that there’ll be plenty of props as well.
Now, we know, on the one hand, a band that only plays covers off the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack has got to be about the dumbest goddamn thing you’ve ever heard of on this Earth. On the other hand, so was Dumb and Dumber, and wasn’t that movie great? Plus, it’s just $7 to see if the band can deliver on their completely insane promise, and we’re sure that’s not the difference between you making it to Aspen and not making it there.
