Time mag flips out over hipsters, Farrah hair

There’s a “hipster history” today on Time.com that was clearly designed as Brooklyn blogger bait. In a well-written but overly high-minded account of hipsterdom’s imminent demise, Dan Fletcher writes:

Hipsters are the friends who sneer when you cop to liking Coldplay. They’re the people who wear t-shirts silkscreened with quotes from movies you’ve never heard of and are the only ones in America who still think Pabst Blue Ribbon is a good beer…

We’re going to resist jumping into the fray, cause even though hipsters “attract a loathing unique in its intensity,” according to Fletcher, we can’t get all that worked up about them. (Love ’em! God’s children!) But while you’re at Time.com, take a few minutes to watch a nice video Valerie Lapinski did at the Beehive Salon’s recent Feathers For Farrah fundraiser, an event that we flogged relentlessly. Above, adorable Brokelyn reader Serena Bartha shows off her flip in the vid.
