This weekend: get rock-star hair for $15

by -

Looking over this weekend’s upcoming events, we came across one that caught our eye: a “rock hair station” at the OJ Music Festival at Park Slope’s Brooklyn Lyceum.
We think we know what a hair-rock station is, but what’s this? It turns out that Topher Gross (no, the actor is Topher Grace), a stylist from Manhattan’s Arrojo salon on Varick Street, will be setting up a booth where he’ll be doing bang trims, dry cuts, clean-ups, flat-ironing etc. for sliding-scale prices starting at $15.
What exactly is rock-star hair? “It’s disheveled elegance,” Gross says, “style without being styled.” Okay, so Adam Lambert’s doesn’t exactly qualify for any of those things (but has anyone else wondered whether he and Kate Gosselin have the same hairdresser?)

Topher will be available after 8:30 p.m. on Friday and starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, styling on a first-come basis. And there will be lots of indie, DIY musicians playing this weekend too (think Etsy for bands). For a full schedule, see the fest’s official site.
