The cut-rate curl whisperer

If you have curly hair, there’s a decent chance you’ve wound up at Devachan, the Manhattan salon with a weirdly effective method of cutting and styling curly hair (cutting it dry then washing it, blotting with paper towels, lecturing the customer on the evils of shampoo). While the starter cut at the two Soho salons is $95, there’s a cheaper alternative in Williamsburg—Jeffrey at the Beehive Salon. He knows the drill but only charges $75. By the way, the cheapest place we found to buy Devachan products online is Allstate Beauty, where a 32-ounce bottle of One Condition is $28.89 (plus free shipping if you buy two), as opposed to $38 on the salon site.

Mmmmmm I've been to him twice for cut and color. First time I loved it, this time not so much, my curly hair looks blocky and a little odd/ dowdy and I feel like the color I got is too harsh for my face . I don't think 'll be going back . So I'd say he's OK but not GREAT. Make sure he knows what you want and don't be afraid to ask questions.
