There’s so much happening and hopping this weekend with Derby Day and Cinco de Mayo. But, there’s some choice rock shows and dance parties on tap, too. Get out there this weekend and enjoy your fine self.

1. Soccer Mommy, gobbinjr, Long Beard. Escape with bedroom pop waves in Williamsburg. (Friday, Rough Trade, $14)

2. Amazing Grace: Grace Jones Dance Party. Pay tribute to the ultimate queen of disco new wave and electropop dance, Grace Jones. (Friday, C’mon Everybody, $8)

3. GoGo Penguin. Take in an acoustic-electronica piano trio. (Friday, Elsewhere, $30)

4. Demlich, Blood Incantation, Artificial Brain, Scorched. It’s time for Heavy Metal Friday. (Friday, St. Vitus, $20)

5. Panda Bear, Geologist. Dubby, dreamy vibes. (Saturday, Brooklyn Steel, $25)

6. Brazilian Girls, HIGH WAISTED. Pop art electronica meets reverb drenched guitars. (Saturday, Music Hall of Williamsburg, $20)

7. Benji B & Waajeed, Gerry Read, Tom of Brooklyn, Aaron Dae. DJ beats and electric hooks. (Saturday, Good Room, $15-20)

8. Bodega Nights – Cinco de Mayo! Close out May 5 with a dance party full of Mambo, Cumbia, and Latin Garage. (Saturday, Our Wicked Lady, FREE)

9. Godmaker, Hexxus, Dutchguts, Nerveshatter. Loud, metal, hardcore, doom metal – a perfect Sunday night. (Sunday, Brooklyn Bazaar, $10)

10. Coma Cinema, Dodgeball, Emily Yacina. The taylor ham, egg, and cheese of tunes with poetic lyrics. (Sunday, Baby’s All Right, $15)
