Cool job alert: Colbert is looking for a music booker!

This man will be your coworker

It’s not everyday a job opportunity appears offering you the chance to work alongside a beacon of political-comedy genius and, come September, the host of this year’s Emmy Awards. As the old adage goes, Stand next to genius and some of that genius will possibly smear onto your sleeve and into your bloodstream and then you will also be a genius. In other words, whatever lucky soul scores this gig with Stephen Colbert will maybe possibly host the 2018 Emmy awards.

CBS is looking to fill a position for a full-time Music Booker on The Late Show‘s Talent Booking team. It’s a dream gig that’s gonna need an already dreamy resume. To qualify, you’ll need 5+ years experience, “booking/producing at a variety show (late night, daytime, morning or similar) or music label experience a plus. Strong contacts in the music industry are required.”

You’ll be booking (or at least, possessing the ability to book) 2-3 music acts per week, including big names and new talent, who you should have a “knack for discovering”. As well, you should have a:

  • Demonstrated ability to bring big ideas for innovative ways to produce music for both broadcast and digital

  • Ability and willingness to pitch in on bookings outside of music, including but not limited to celebs, newsmakers and athletes, and to interact and collaborate with other teams on the show

Good luck, and don’t forget to thank us when you guys win another Emmy. Apply here.
