Saturday: BK Bridge walk for poor pups

If you’re planning to hoof it across the Brooklyn Bridge Saturday evening, expect some heavy canine gridlock. The Brooklyn Animal Rescue Coalition, partnered with other shelters, is sponsoring the first-ever Pup Crawl, when dog lovers will be walking hand-in-leash with their slobbery sweethearts to help foot animal shelters’ food bills.

Both hounds and human participants will receive refreshments, courtesy of the BARC. The event is suggested donation, and all proceeds go directly their partner shelters: Ace of Hearts in LA and Get-A-Life Pet Rescue in Ft. Lauderdale.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall Park, and the crawl begins at 7 p.m. Check the official Pup Crawl website for details and the sign-up sheet. A hairy date on Saturday night is finally a good thing.

  • I'm going to have to get some of my friends with dogs together to head to this event. What a great cause!
