Are you into jogging? We don’t quite understand why, but hey, do you. And since you spend all that time jogging, you may as well make it work for you by getting out there and winning the Brooklyn Half Marathon, happening May 17. Except whoops, it’s already sold out. You could still support your fellow runners though by volunteering at this year’s race. Not into helping people because it’s a nice thing to do? Good news then, because every volunteer gets an automatic entry to the 2015 Brooklyn Half. So, there’s that.
What kind of volunteers are they looking for though? All kinds of volunteers, as it is. There’s a pre-party going on from May 14 to May 16, and the marathon will need people to hand out bibs and t-shirts, be bike valets and crowd marshals.
You don’t want to be at the pre-party though, you want to see people running and envy their movements. In that case, the half-marathon could use people to do plenty of jobs at either the beginning of the race, along the route or at the finish line. You can be one of those people who hands out drinks as the runners go past, you can load luggage on baggage trucks at the start of the race, do crowd control at Prospect Park or at the finish line at Coney Island or get the runners into their starting corrals. So not only will you get guaranteed entry to next year’s Brooklyn Half, you can get it just by bossing people around all afternoon. Sounds like a sweet deal.
