In what marks the fifth affordable housing lottery to open in Brooklyn this year alone, a whopping 143 subsidized units are now accepting applications at Downtown Brooklyn’s glassy residential development 33 Bond St. (alternate address 300 Livingston St.). You’ll be paying on the cheap (rents start at $897/month) while your neighbors splurge big time and both of you get too enjoy the buildings’ ridiculous amenities, including dog grooming, because no luxury housing experience is complete without a professionally cleaned pupper.
The lottery, which opened today, is looking for one- to four-person households making a combined annual income of $32,640 to $54,360, depending on family size.
There are 51 studio units available, renting for $897/month, 52 one-bedrooms available for $963/month, and 40 two-bedrooms available for $1,166/month.
Per usual, seven percent of the units will go to mobility-, hearing-, and vision-disabled applicants. Community Board 2 — which covers parts of Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Dumbo, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, DUMBO, and a variety of other smaller nabes — residents and municipal employees will get preference.
In addition to being a brand-spankin new rental tower that’s super conveniently located (the A, C, G, 2, 3, 4, 5, B, Q, and R are all within a two block radius), building amenities include a 24-hour attended lobby, on-site resident manager, sun terrace, fitness center, computer lounge, dog grooming, part rooms, laundry room, and bike storage (some of which cost extra, but still).
The building is smoke-free.
Currently under construction, the building will, once completed, be 25 stories, with 55,938 square feet of ground and cellar floor retail. Apartments will average 790 square feet per unit, New York YIMBY reported.
Check out NYC Housing Connect for the full building profile and how to apply. Applications are due April 14.
