Church of the Ascension, 122 Java Street, today from 8am until 8pm.
They’re accepting donations and coordinating volunteers to take supplies to the Rockaways, Red Hook, Coney Island and Staten Island. Most needed items are food, water, blankets, flashlights, batteries, toiletries, baby items and cleaning supplies. @sandyrelief_GPT.
Clinton Hill
The Church of St. Luke and St. Matthew, 520 Clinton Ave between Fulton and Atlantic
The church needs volunteers from 9am-9pm and donations of flashlights/candles, fresh produce/bread/eggs/milk to cook, non-perishables. Or donate from your couch. Help donate to the victims of Hurricane Sandy by using Amazon’s Gift Registery to send items to the Occupy Sandy relief outpost.
Park Slope

Park Slope Armory YMCA, 361 15th Street. Needs overnight volunteers to assist with displaced elderly patients.

Continues to send hot food and sandwiches. Today they need: a driver with van to go to Staten Island today, driver with van to go to Coney Island, water, bread, cold cuts, protein bars, ready to eat food (there is no power or gas for cooking in many areas), cleaning supplies, bleach, paper towels, mops, juice boxes, snacks for kids.
Red Hook

Sunset Park

Any time after 9am. Urgently needs water, blankets, candles, flashlights, lights, food, batteries, baby supplies, work gloves and masks, rubber boots, shovels, cleaning supplies, bleach, trash bags, serving dishes and utensils, anything that produces heat, warm winter clothing, but no longer needs general clothing. The R train is running and is one block from Jacobi OR get a ride from 342 Maujer St. in Willaimsburg at 10am or 1pm. Bring a vehicle and gas if you can!
Brighton Beach
Jewish Association Serving the Aging is looking for volunteers to carry supplies up 7-20 flights of stairs to homebound seniors in Brighton Beach during daylight hours. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Jacob Stolar 212-991-6572 or jstolar@jasa.org.

In Bay Ridge: Councilman Vincent Gentiles office is also accepting donations at his office, between 87th and 88th on 3rd avenue.
The site was completely flooded and they are hesitant to plug anything in until an electrician has confirmed it is safe.
