If you’re the kind of person who identifies (formally or casually) as a trash panda and really digs sewage history then boy are you gonna fall head over heals in love with this treatment plant tour. A lesser known but better remembered public offering – one of the small ways in which New York City makes your overpriced shoebox of an apartment worthwhile – the Valentine’s Day Digester Egg Tour at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Greernpoint is now open for registration.

The popular experience is brought to you by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and offers to bring you to ground zero for dankness, AKA eight Blade Runner-esque stainless steel-clad “digester eggs” which live to process our waste.

There are four time slots available for the tour – 11am, 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm – all on Saturday, February 10. Tickets are sure to go fast, so RSVP ASAP.
