Studio 2012 Apocalyptic Disco: $20 Public Assembly, Williamsburg. Let’s get all the Mayan calendar references out of the way now. Yes, this is an end of the world party, a la Prince’s 1999. Thrown by Cheryl, the self-declared “party that will ruin your life.” If NYE isn’t thrilling enough, trust their superlative-filled description to get you excited for…something.
New Year’s Eve 5/5/5 Spectacular: $5 Union Hall, Park Slope, America’s favorite bocce bar is celebrating its fifth birthday with $5 drink specials, a DJ and Karaoke Killed the Cat, its notorious live-band karaoke party.
New Year’s Eve Beer Bash: $21.50, Tea Lounge, Park Slope. Drink free (well, after you pay the cover) Sixpoint beers from 9pm – 1am, spend 1am – 2am showing your friends your bloated, gassy beer gut; rinse, repeat.
New Year’s Eve at South 4th: FREE South 4th Bar, Williamsburg. With free admission, you can peruse the special drink menu for the occasion, drink the drink specials for the occasion, and have a FREE champagne toast for the occasion. A win for everyone, whether you like champagne or toast!
Fireworks at Grand Army Plaza: FREE Grand Army Plaza, Park Slope. Personally, I think fireworks are for the simps, but if sky fire is your thing, head over to the big arch at 11pm for free hot chocolate and loud pops!

If anyone has some tips on good parties in BK, share away (as long as you don't mind gunking them up with stupid other people)!
I swear one of these years I'm going to sleep through it. Maybe it's this year. I said that last year and ended up in a back alley Williamsburg dance party until 7am. But this year.
None of these parties will have Glug. Hence, they are inferior.
would love to see a post regarding an open menu in the park slope-ish area for dinner on NYE. Every restaurant is running a pre-fixe... at an exorbitant amount of money for their offering. I was gonna run w/ SONG on New Years Eve but they're actually closed? Weird.
I don't know about the Park Slope area, but St. Austere in Williamsburg is having a 4 course pig dinner tonight for $40, I think. They also have an open bar for $50, and you can get both for $80 (which is cheaper than most places just doing open bar). The food is fantastic, too.
Thanks for the tips. Going to see a few great bands at the Gutter in Williamsburg (the less intense bowling-bar that also has live bands, not B'klyn Bowl). Cover's only $5, and they are doing free champagne toast at midnight, showing the ball drop, etc. I'll be getting there early for My Teenage Stride, in a fairly rare live appearance- they are a fun, indie, poppy, tuneful band.
