PHOTOS: Industry City’s new mini golf court pays homage to the BQE

There are few activities which can allow you to embrace your inner child while maintaining the semblance of adulting like mini golf and ping pong. All your worries and fears are whisked away as your mind is taken over by the Zen notion of putt, putt, putting that ball into the hole. Existential fears and job insecurity are rendered irrelevant as you focus all your energy of pinging that damn pong ball into your opponent’s court. Plus, it’s almost summer, so multiply the positive attributes of everything you love by three fold.

Industry City‘s got the twee-ist god dang mini golf court around this year, with nine Brooklyn-themed holes visibly inspired by Green-Wood Cemetery, a water tower, the Gowanus Canal, the Williamsburgh Savings Bank, the Carroll Street Bridge, the BQE, the Wonder Wheel, the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel and the Industry City logo.

Also new at Industry City this summer is an indoor ping pong court, a seafood bar called Wheelhouse and some very colorful stair murals.

The Wheelhouse menu is quite pricey, although it does sound delicious. A Thai spiced lobster roll will run you $20 and a seafood sausage bahn mi is $12. The cheapest meal option is The Big Tuna for $10.

The mini golf costs $10 per round for adults ($5 for children 10 and under).

Check out photos of the murals, ping pong and Wes Anderson-worthy mini golf below.
