Procrastinated on buying notebooks for the upcoming school year? (Hint: a stack of post-its works pretty well in a lecture). Need some stilt walkers, rowdy children, and arts and crafts to get you psyched about starting a new semester? Good news, students! Habana Outpost (757 Fulton St., Fort Greene) is hosting its annual back to school bash on Monday, September 1, from 11am-3pm.
The Fort Greene eco-eatery promises free glitter tattoos, recycled craft projects and free school supplies — notebooks, pencils, rulers have all been mentioned — at this family friendly event. Sure, its suggested that moms and dads mark their calendars, but it’s not like grad students don’t need notebooks too. Just be sure you let your friends with kids know about this too. And hey, you may get some school year babysitting gigs out of it.
Obviously, you’ll be ordering Habana Outpost’s Mexican and Cuban food, so think of the giveaways as a type of happy meal prize with your warm cubano and cotija corn on a stick.
Stop sulking about the end of summer, sip some mojitos and stock up on practical and glittery freebies.
