This upstate property with private waterfalls is cheaper than most Brooklyn apartments

It's like having a far lusher Prospect Park all to yourself

Renting in Brooklyn, it’s better not to think too hard about the premium you’re paying to live here. Have a friend who recently moved to Cleveland? Good for them; it’s probably best for your mental health not to ask what they’re paying in rent on that stunning two-bedroom they share not with a rando found on Craigslist but their Burmese Mountain Dog.

Of course, we’ve got the bright lights, the big city, far more beautiful potential in-range Tinder matches and so many cultural activities! Still, though, when listings like this one appear, our apartments suddenly begin to look more dreary.

________

You could recreate this in Brooklyn with, like, high-tech VR wall panels?

An upstate cabin in the idyllic town of Cazenovia, this property encompasses 60 acres, a mile of creek frontage, and two waterfalls (one 65-foot, the other 52-foot), 6sqft originally reported. All that nature will cost you just $925,00 – $1,139,243 less than the average 2016 sales price of a Brooklyn townhouse. The main home on the property is separately available for $699,000, $96,000 less than the average 2017 price of a Brooklyn apartment.

Oh, did we mention the 5,000 square foot barn? Also, a “small house in woods and hydro power facilities” are casually included in the $925K sticker price, the equivalent to city amenities like access to bike parking or an accessible roof.

________

The porch is bigger than plenty of studio apartments

This is the first time the Delphi Falls, the name of the two private backyard waterfalls, has been on the market since 1960.

Broker Michael Franklin compared the property to “owning your own state park”, 6sqft reported.
