Giveaway! 2 Northside tix to Liars and complete discography

Liars, lying in wait for you Saturday

The only thing people love more than summer is complaining about summer. “Everyone’s making fun of me for wearing jorts,” “This show is sold out,” “Wahhh, it smells like hot garbage everywhere.” Well… quit the whining, because we’re giving you something good: two tickets to see art punk noisemakers Liars at the Northside Festival this Saturday, June 26. And we’ll throw in the band’s complete five-album discography (together, an $80+ value). Happy now?

TO ENTER: Email liars@brokelyn.com by Friday, Jun. 25 at noon. We’ll randomly pick a lucky winner. And remember, you have to be an e-mail subscriber to win. Not a subscriber? Sign-up here: it’s a long and arduous process that will ask you personal questions we will send directly to the US Government’s Ministry of Internet Omnipotence (psyche! Now we’re being liars).

Don’t forget that Liars’ last three albums have gotten the illustrious “Best New Music” stamp from Pitchfork, including this year’s effort, Sisterworld, which is a creepy slice of rock that will likely show up on a lot of “Best Of” lists at the end of the year. They also have a political bent to their art, with one of their newest music videos shedding light on the evils of… rocks. Opening for Liars at Newton Barge Park on Saturday will be indie pop mavens High Places and everyone’s favorite hardcore band Fucked Up.

And if you don’t win (but we know you will), don’t cry the hardcore tears, because a four-day pass to Northside is just $40 (20 percent off) with this handy promo code, courtesy of our brokester-in-arms the skint. Northside just might be the best bang for your buck out of all the summer festivals, with four days of music from over one hundred bands, art installations and even a film festival all taking place in Greenpoint and Williamsburg. And unlike some other festivals that take resorting to creative income to afford, you won’t be paying for the privilege of getting groped by some hedge fund stooge who’s psyched to see the Dave Mathews Band, brah.

So… subscribe to Brokelyn here and email liars@brokelyn.com by Friday at noon to enter.
