Free concert alert! Nas and Yeasayer are playing the House of Vans

Catch Nas and Yeasayer at celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vans.

Free concert season is finally here and it’s a glorious thing. Here’s another one to add to your calendars: In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vans, aka the too-hungover-to-tie-your-shoes shoes, Williamsburg’s House of Vans is hosting a free concert with Nas and Yeasayer, plus a DJ set from Questlove. It’s unclear if we’ll get another summer of House of Vans free shows, but this is a good sign that maybe more shows are to come. The event will also feature DIY workshops, shoe personalization and an interactive, 3D display of Vans’ 2016 brand campaign. Kids love #brands!

The show on March 16 starts at 7pm; it’s free with an RSVP here.

Nas and Yeasayer are not exactly a natural pairing for a show, but they both have Brooklyn roots (Nas was born here before moving to Queens; Yeasayer was formed in Brooklyn). Those House of Vans shows always get a big line so make sure to get there early so you can get in.

Vans also says of the event:

Upon entering the House of Vans, guests will take a walk through Vans history for a close look at memorabilia installations highlighting 50 years of iconic moments. To honor and tell the story of Vans’ design progression, Vans has partnered with esteemed collectors Skateboard Museum Berlin and The Other Side of the Pillow to present a gallery of vintage Vans products. Attending guests will revel in the sounds of a genre-diverse selection of musical talent including punk rock, hip-hop, indie and electronic, all which represent Vans’ unique music aesthetic.
