Citi Bike is all sorts of terrible things, they some crazy people say, but it is quite the jobs creator. The ever-embattled bike share program’s got lots of open positions available in Brooklyn, from checkers to dispatchers to “outreach ambassadors,” so screw all those college kids who got full time jobs before they even graduated, eh? We’ve rounded up a few other available gigs that are ripe for the picking, too, so you can spend summer fighting your landlord for lower rent money in financial peace.
As previously mentioned, Citi Bike is looking to fill a number of positions in Brooklyn. They need Outreach Ambassadors to help promote the program in neighborhoods with access to it; bike checkers to maintain and clean bikes; and bike mechanics to make solid repairs when those suckers break down. All jobs require intimate knowledge of the NYC cycling scene and the basics of bike repair.

And finally, the Brooklyn Museum needs an Associate Manager of Visitor Services. Duties would include managing the Visitor Center staff, dealing with visitor signage, coordinating the production of visitor publications and staffing Target First Saturdays, among other things. The position does require “significant experience” in in arts administration, marketing and branding and customer services, and you should have had at least one prior job working in a museum. But the position is full-time and salaried, and they are hiring immediately.
