Have you heard? There’s a (another) new co-op in town! And Brownstone Brooklyn is partnering with the soon-to-open Greene Hill Food Co-op to help them secure enthusiastic members. For the month of February only, anyone who joins as a new member of the Greene Hill Food Co-op gets a $20 coupon at iCi restaurant in Fort Greene! Interested? Read on.
The co-op hasn’t set an opening date yet, but once it does, members will be required to work three hours once a month. In addition to receiving delicious, affordable and environmentally responsible eats, new members who sign up through Brownstone Brooklyn’s promotion, can get in on the iCi restaurant deal (joining the co-op itself involves a one-time $175 fee).
The Greene Hill Food Co-op is a member-owned and operated food co-op, serving the residents of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Prospect Heights, though anyone can join. As the co-op continues to raise funds to open its 18 Putnam Ave. store location, the group has launched a buying club, much like a CSA, in which members receive fresh produce every two weeks.
iCi restaurant boasts a plethora of fresh, seasonal and local fare. Join now through this Facebook event link to receive your iCi coupon in the mail. You’ll be able to use your coupon for dinner Sunday through Thursday anytime until June 1 of this year. Who knows? Perhaps you’ll be inspired to recreate your iCi meal with all the beautiful, fresh produce you’ll score from your Co-op membership.
