Fans of the band Superchunk who didn’t snag a ticket for either Friday or Saturday night’s shows at Bowery Ballroom, don’t despair; you have a chance to see them play for free at Bushwick’s Shea Stadium on Saturday, where you can be an extra in their music video. Never heard of ’em, but still haven’t let go your childhood fantasy of being in a music video ever since you first saw Smells like Teen Spirit on MTV? Well, this applies to you too. Don’t care for music? Well, Superchunk’s new album is called I Hate Music, so, yeah, you’ll fit in too.
The Chapel Hill, NC-based indie rock group will be shooting in three shifts, 10 am-1 pm, 2 pm-5pm, and 5pm-9pm, with the first shift being the most crowd-centric, so if you think you’re destined for head-banging fame, that’s the one you should try to show up for. Email superchunkvideo@gmail.com to RSVP with your name, how many people you’re bringing (as many as you want) and which shift you’re coming for.
If you’re still craving more time with the band, they’re also performing on Jimmy Fallon tonight, and it’s not too late to enter to win a spot on the Superchunk band bench.
